Terrance Richardson Scholarship |
Terrance Darius Richardson was a dedicated and active member of APEHRA from 2012 to 2016, remembered for his warmth, generosity, and lasting impact on both the organization and his community.
Professionally, Terrance served the City of Little Rock as a Human Resources Technician for five years. He was often the first face visitors encountered in the HR department, welcoming, engaging, and uplifting. His genuine kindness and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met, often brightening the day of colleagues and visitors alike.
Beyond his professional life, Terrance was a naturally gifted musician with a deep love for music. He began playing the drums at the age of five and continued to share his talent throughout his life, including at First Baptist Church in Conway, where he also mentored young people. His commitment to guiding and encouraging others reflected his compassionate spirit and natural ability to connect with people on a meaningful level.
Terrance attended Central Baptist College and was creative in many forms. He had a passion for music, photography, and the outdoors—interests that allowed him to capture life’s meaningful moments through his lens with exceptional skill and artistry.
Known for his generosity and wisdom beyond his years, Terrance had an innate ability to support and uplift others. Even from a young age, he demonstrated a unique gift for offering guidance and encouragement in a way that left people feeling seen, heard, and inspired.
On January 20, 2016, Terrance’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 28 in a fatal accident while traveling from Conway to his position at Little Rock City Hall. His passing left a profound void within APEHRA and in the hearts of all who knew him.
In honor of his life, legacy, and contributions, APEHRA is proud to offer the Terrance Richardson Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship serves not only as a tribute to Terrance’s enduring impact, but also as a way to continue the spirit of service, mentorship, and excellence that he exemplified.
The Arkansas Public Employers Human Resources Association (APEHRA) has established the Terrance Richardson Scholarship to recognize Terrance’s commitment and service to the association, and to honor his significant achievements in the human resources field. Two (2) (up to) $500 Scholarships will be awarded each calendar year to assist members of APEHRA with the HRCI, SHRM, or PSHRA Certification fees.
